It is known that banks could offer this form of collection if they wanted to, but most institutions preferred to charge the amount referring to the closing date of the invoice.
When do these credit card changes start?
Banks will be obliged to offer the option of using the exchange rate on the day of each expense, as per Circular Letter No. 3918. invoice closing.
In an official note, the Central Bank argued that the systematic payment by invoice closing date leaves customers exposed to fluctuations in conversion rates in the period between the day of expenditure and payment.
However, the main reason is because the exchange variation that occurred between the date of the expense and the actual payment is currently adjusted in the invoice of the following month, which can generate credit or debit for the customer.
What changes in the lives of credit card users?
The change begins to take effect from March 1 of this current year. However, as a matter of practice, each invoice must have: a breakdown of each expense, with at least its date, the identification of the foreign currency and the amount in said currency.

It works like this: the equivalent amount in dollars on the date of each expense; the conversion rate from dollars to reais on the date of each expense; and the amount in reais to be paid by the customer.
