As well as several bars in Curitiba and restaurants in quarantine, the bardocelar is closed in a social and collective commitment to combat and prevent the Coronavirus.
Like all micro and small entrepreneurs, the bar owners, Cleber Rodrigo and Leandro Affanio are concerned about financial losses during the pandemic.
But what kept them awake at night was the thought that the city's musicians would be out of work for a long time, as most live music venues are closed indefinitely.

That's when they came up with a sensational idea: to continue paying musicians fees so that they can play the same show, but broadcast over the internet.
The first show broadcast on Instagram will be next Saturday (21), at 10 pm, with the band É Nóix. The idea is to broadcast one show a week and also sensitize other bar owners to do the same for Curitiba musicians.
“We were very touched by the situation of the bands, because we are going to pay the employees during the forty-year period.
The musicians will be out of work for a long time, and they have expenses, family like everyone else. They are autonomous”, said Cleber.
“The band É Nóix was already hired to do the show on Saturday before we decided to close the bar. The biggest losses we will already have, as long as we can pay the fees we will do a weekly show.
In the brothers' opinion, it is a way of facing the pandemic in a solidary way, with an eye toward others. “We want to bring a little joy and culture for free, keeping the cachet of the bands. It's trying to think outside the box, with less drama and more solidarity at this moment”, said Cleber.
However, they hope that the initiative will sensitize other bar owners in Curitiba. “We hope that other bars will follow our example to help the city's musicians survive in these pandemic times”, said Cleber.
