When paying in cash, taxpayers have the option of reversing the amount of the discount to charities in the Blumenau region south.
This year, taxpayers will have one more option when paying Property and Land Tax (IPTU): contributing to social actions and charities. Those who want to contribute may choose to pay in a single account (white sheet) and without discount.
According to the Secretary of Finance, César Poltronieri, the law that makes this initiative possible for taxpayers was approved at the end of last year.
— In the booklet, there is a specific guide for this, due in February and the full amount of the tax. It is a spontaneous contribution. That citizen who wants to help these social projects can pay this way to make the donation. Explains the secretary.
Receive Resources
The amount that corresponds to the discount in a single quota is reversed and donated to the Municipal Social Assistance Fund. According to the amount collected, the Municipal Social Assistance Council (CMAS) defines the projects that will receive the resource.
President of CMAS, Patrícia Sasse explains that all investment is applied in what the population needs most.
— In this action we will be able to increase the resources destined to the social projects developed by the entities in our municipality, certainly an advance for our area. Finishes the president.
All taxpayers who live or own properties in Blumenau have already received the IPTU card and can choose to pay in cash and receive a discount – which may vary according to the date of discharge -, or in installments throughout the year.
Even those who choose not to donate can also pay the IPTU in cash. So whoever does this in February gets a 5% discount. But if the full payment is made in March, the discount goes to 3%. Residents can also pay the tax in up to 11 installments, with a minimum installment of R$ 20.
