The coronavirus (Covid-19) is expected to have devastating effects on the already weakened economy and trade in Acre. With the announcement by the Treasury Secretariat that Acre's collection in April may have a drop of 20%.

According to the president of the Commercial Association of Acre (Acisa), Celestino Bento, because of the decree that determined that only essential services would work, the drop in sales of services and products should register a margin greater than 40%.
“We are now dealing with emergency situations. We are now working on the issue of ICMS, IPTU, IPVA and installments so that it can be extended further down the line.
I believe that the initial impact on the State of 40% affects sales and this will continue for the next three months with sales down and the risk of unemployment increasing”, highlighted Bento.
Another who also sees a not very encouraging scenario is the president of the Federation of Industries of Acre (Fieac), José Adriano. According to the industry representative, civil construction had already “been skating, but with the slowdown caused by the pandemic, the situation got worse.

“That is why we appeal to the government to speed up the bidding processes during this period. In private, we noticed a momentary Blackout due to the publication of the decree, but it returned to normal numbers”, argued Adriano.
The president of Fieac also stated that he agrees with Acisa's perspective of analysis, as retail trade suffered the greatest impact.
Adriano also pointed out that in the industrial production of state, the biggest concern is with importing raw materials from other centers, but we are still working with stocks acquired before the pandemic.
“But it worries in case of aggravation. Initially, we estimated the reduction in industrial production in these 10 days at around 201TP3Q until now”, he stressed.
Therefore, it found that if some federal and state government measures are not implemented to help the economy and the scenario continues with this negative expectation, the number of unemployed in the State should reach numbers never seen before.
