As governed by Witzel in the decision so far, at least 30 municipalities will have a relaxed quarantine and will be able, among other things, to open trade.
A new update emerged after a meeting this past Monday, at the Guanabara Palace, by the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, along with the Secretary of Health, Edmar Santos and other members of the portfolio team. It was decided that the social quarantine will be relaxed in at least 30 municipalities in the state.
For now, the measure is not valid for the capital, which concentrates the highest number of confirmed cases of coronavirus. The total is already 1,461 people infected.
Witzel will announce other measures to combat the disease today (7), at a press conference. The governor, together with the Secretary of Health, evaluated criteria for easing isolation. Of the 92 municipalities in the state, 41 have confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
The restrictions that were provided for in government decree remained maintained. The 13th is the deadline. Despite this, many people took to the streets last weekend, not disobeying the determination of social isolation and staying at home.
Covid-19 in Rio de Janeiro
According to information from the State Department of Health so far there are 71 deaths. Seven more compared to the report released last Sunday. Five of these were in the capital (three men and two women, between 28 and 87 years old), a 41-year-old man, in the Belford Roxo region, and another 40-year-old man, in Itaboraí. There are still 75 deaths that are under investigation across the state.
The confirmed deaths are divided as follows: Rio de Janeiro (47), Belford Roxo (3), Duque de Caxias (3), Itaboraí (2), Niterói (2), Nova Iguaçu (2), Rio Bonito (2), Volta Redonda (2), Arraial do Cabo (1), Maricá (1), Mesquita (1), Miguel Pereira (1), Petrópolis (1), Rio das Ostras (1), São Gonçalo (1) and São João de Meriti (1).
New rules in the capital
The new opening hours of the authorized establishments start from this Tuesday (7), in Rio de Janeiro. Exclusively or predominantly commercial locations must start the journey after 9:00 am. Bakeries and pastry shops, pharmacies and drugstores, gas stations and convenience stores and newsstands, establishments that traditionally open earlier, are outside this decree. Industrial establishments must start work before 6 am.
The new rules, announced on Sunday (6) by the City Hall, were published yesterday (6) in Decree No. 47,336. Where it adds devices to the measures to combat the new coronavirus pandemic, implemented since March 20.
According to the city hall, the new shifts aim to prevent agglomerations in public transport.
