Bahia Carnival: Over 250 Guides Welcome Foreign Tourists Throughout the State

Carnival Bahia will have the participation of 254 professionals as qualified to provide tourist information and support to state management bodies in attendance.

You guides of tourism participated in two days of training held at the Museu de Arte da Bahia. Training for the Guides and Monitors Project, an initiative of the State Tourism Secretariat (Setur), will be completed.

In fact, professionals are prepared to provide assistance to visitors in important tourist destinations in Bahia during this carnival.

As an example Praia do Forte, Salvador, Porto Seguro, Itacaré, Morro de São Paulo and Mar Grande.

Tour Guides

According to the project coordinator, Eloísa Caldeira, tour guides are in fact able to clarify doubts in up to ten languages, including Brazilian sign language.

“This year we reached the 16th edition of the project and, in partnership with several secretariats, we aligned ourselves so that the monitors are multipliers of government campaigns”.

In fact, the campaign 'Respect the Mines', combating racism, sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, among others.

They are also preparing guides on the tourist area in Bahia, as many arrive in Salvador and want to see other places.

Information about the party circuits in Salvador, as well as the purchase of abadás and cabins can also be provided by the team.

According to Eloísa, there is a call center system that can be used by State bodies, which will serve on Carnival days.

Languages

The same goes for the example of the police, who need to assist a tourist in another language and do not have an agent who is fluent in the language.

The guides are in fact able to assist tourists in the following languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Yoruba, Norwegian, Japanese and Mandarin.

In the capital of Bahia, the guides will be present at the entrance gates of the airport, bus station, port, nautical terminal and ferry boat.
