Thinking about its customers and the post-coronavirus world, Caixa and Sebrae, which is the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses, signed a partnership that will facilitate access to credit.
According to the announcement, this union aims to guarantee better conditions for micro and small companies, as well as individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs). According to information from Caixa, this agreement was signed last Monday, April 20th.
What does this change in practice for microentrepreneurs and small businesses? A partnership was formed that enables the integration of a set of measures developed with the aim of reducing the impact caused by the coronavirus.
Caixa and Sebrae – Credit lines available
The established partnership will enable credit lines offered by Caixa. The additional guarantees will be granted by Sebrae, through the Micro and Small Business Guarantee Fund (Fampe).
As announced by Caixa, from now on, entrepreneurs will be able to count on an assisted credit platform. The appeal will have a grace period of up to 12 months and flexible deadlines.
MEIs will have access to up to 12.5 thousand reais in credit.
Another new feature is that the grace period will be nine months and the interest rates will be 1.59% per month. As for the payment period, it will be two years.
Micro-enterprises, in turn, will have access to lines worth up to 75 thousand reais. The grace period will be twelve months and amortization in up to 30 months, with rates of 1.39%.
Due to the established partnership, small businesses will be able to access up to 125 thousand reais in credit. It is worth remembering that, with these new measures, the grace period will be one year, up to three years to pay and interest of 1.19%.
Better conditions for MEIs and companies
There's a lot of news, right? According to the president of Caixa, Pedro Guimarães, the partnership aims to support the micro-enterprise sector that has suffered greatly from the reduction in activities caused by the new coronavirus.
The president of Sebrae, Carlos Melles, argues that one of the biggest obstacles in small businesses' access to credit is the requirement for guarantees made by financial institutions.
