O Whatsapp Pay was announced in June 2020, however, at the time the Central Bank prevented the release of this function, due to probable “irreparable damage”, almost a year after the announcement, the Central Bank made adjustments with the owners of the application, and finally, released the function.
To send an amount to another user of WhatsApp, it will be as simple as sending a photo, video, or audio, however, before release the function, users will have to register a debit card on Facebook Pay, (Facebook payments platform, integrated with Whatsapp).

Below, see step by step how to carry out the payments:
- Enter the conversation tab with the person you want to send a payment to;
- At the bottom of the application, clip the clip icon (that usual icon, which you use to send photos, videos and documents);
- After selecting the item, a series of options appear, including the new payment option;
- The first time you use this function, Whatsapp will automatically redirect you to the Facebook Pay platform, where you will need to enter data from a card accepted by the service provided, you will need to inform the name written on the card, card number, expiration date , name written on the card and security code;
- Next, the user will need to create a PIN code (numeral password) that will serve as a personal signature;
- After that, (or the next time you use the function), the screen will open directly for you to write the amount you want to send. Whatsapp will ask for your PIN code, so don't forget this password;
- Entering the PIN code, just send the amount you want;
- If you have an internet connection, the amount will be forwarded to the other person at the same time, it's really like sending a photo.
It is worth mentioning that your password PIN, no he must be shared with anyone, this password is yours, and works exactly like a bank password. - The maximum amount that users can send and receive is 20 daily transactions;
