What is the Digital Student Card?
A MEC digital student card, call of student ID, is national card for every student in Brazil, from elementary school to the technical and higher level, and can be easily issued through an application or portfolio physical.
This one document grants the same rights as student cards issued by UNE and other associations of students, such as half-price tickets to concerts, cinemas, theaters and other cultural events.
What is the difference between physical and digital?
The difference between the student ID and the other desks is that it is free: the student can issue documents through the app or at Caixa Econômica Federal without paying any fees.
How to issue the student card?

Step 1: Access your app store, Google Play or Apple Store, download the app and search for student card.
Tip: Make sure the app has a Brazilian government brand and link to its official page
Step 2: access the student id app on your phone
Step 3: Click to login with gov.br
Step 4: Enter your CPF and password in the government single sign-on account
Step 5: Click Attach
Step 6: Choose the option to student ID
Step 7: Accept terms and conditions
Step 8: Click to take a picture and perform facial biometric verification

Prior to receiving the MEC digital student card, you need to check whether your educational institution participated in the program:
Step 1: To do so, visit idestudantil.mec.gov.br;
Step 2: Scroll down and click on “Is your educational institution registered?”;
See names of states, cities and institutions, respectively;
if your educational institution is on the list, you can issue a student ID.
If your name educational institution not on the list or the MEC system is not found, the student ID cannot be issued.

Step 3: Access the website acesso.gov.br and click on “Create your account”;
Step 4: Fill in your personal data in the fields;
Step 6: Choose account activation method (email or SMS);
