In São Paulo, the state prefecture is receiving complaints about open trade. Between the 20th and 30th of March, there were 6,899 occurrences, about commercial establishments that were maintaining normal activities even with the government's decision to quarantine.
The state prefecture reported that despite the complaints, in general the population has collaborated with the determination of municipal decrees regarding the closure of trade activities. So far, 30 non-essential establishments have been banned for not complying with the decision. And an establishment was fined in the amount of R$ 9,231.65 in accordance with Law 16,402.
"It is important to emphasize that the objective is not to fine, but rather to avoid agglomerations to reduce the risk of transmission of the coronavirus to protect the population, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization", communicated the city hall in a note. .
According to the Municipal Secretariat of Subprefectures, since Friday (20), around 2,000 agents have been working to raise the awareness of traders and street vendors about keeping establishments closed. Locations that fail to comply with the decree will be subject to immediate interdiction. In case of resistance, the operating license, Term of Permission to Use (TPU) or temporary authorization will be revoked.
