Brazilian Chicken Meat Exports Grow 2.2% In February

Thus, Brazilian exports of chicken meat (considering all products, including fresh and processed) reached 316.9 thousand tons in February, which represents a growth of 2.2% compared to the same period last year. China import leadership

Thus, the main highlight of the month is China, which took the lead among Brazilian export destinations in February. Although the Chinese market imported 38.8 thousand tons in the period, increasing its purchases by 11% in relation to the second month of 2018. Except for the two months, the increase in sales to the Chinese market reached 5%, with 72.5 thousand tons.

Therefore, South Korea, which recently enabled 4 more poultry export plants, also increased its purchases. Even so, in the month, the increase reached 24%, with 8.2 thousand tons. In the two months, the increase is 6%, with total shipments of 15.6 thousand tons.

“In principle, the health situation in Asian countries, as is the case of China, resulting from outbreaks of African Swine Fever, pressured the demand for various proteins in large markets in that region”, analyzes Francisco Turra, president of ABPA. “So Thanks to this, the general revenue from Brazilian exports showed a better level of increase than the balance in volumes”, he adds.
