Santander Financiamentos – Bank allows break of up to 60 days

The new crisis installed in the world in relation to the coronavirus, forced Santander Financiamentos, which is the sector responsible for the bank's financing, to take new measures to ensure that its customers are able to pay their debts made prior to the crisis.

When was this new measure decided? Santander's announcement took place last Wednesday (15). In the announcement, the bank informed that vehicle financing installments may be extended by up to 60 days, without changing the interest rate.

Santander Financiamentos – on the extension of debts

In addition to the traditional vehicle financing, as we are well aware, the new measure will also apply to the financing of goods and services by individual and corporate customers.

These new special bank conditions do not cover previously renegotiated contracts, such as leasing, corporate assignment, Volvo Cars financial services and contracts that are in the first and last installment.

In a statement, André Novaes, director of the Santander Financiamentos sector, said: We expanded the measures to other profiles of people and businesses, as we understand that the moment we are living is challenging for everyone. Even customers with all their bills up to date may need a little more breath”

Finally, we also need to point out here that for customers with overdue installments, there is the possibility of extending the payment of installments.

However, the bank said that the criteria will be carefully evaluated by Santander Financiamentos. The customer cannot have previously renegotiated this debt.
