Thinking about its customers and the post-coronavirus world, Caixa and Sebrae, which is the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Companies, signed a partnership that will facilitate access to credit.
As announced, this union aims to guarantee better conditions for micro and small companies, as well as for individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs). According to information from Caixa, this agreement was signed last Monday, April 20th.
What does this change in practice for micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses? A partnership was made that allows the integration of a set of measures developed with the aim of reducing the impact caused by the coronavirus.
Caixa and Sebrae – Lines of credit available
The partnership established will enable lines of credit offered by Caixa. The complementary guarantees will be granted by Sebrae, through the Guarantee Fund for Micro and Small Companies (Fampe).
As announced by Caixa, from now on, entrepreneurs will be able to count on an assisted credit platform. The resource will have a grace period of up to 12 months and flexible terms.
MEIs will have access to up to 12,500 reais in credit.
Another novelty is that the grace period will be nine months and interest rates of 1.59% per month. As for the payment term, it will be two years.
For Microenterprises, in turn, they will have access to lines of up to 75 thousand reais. The grace period will be twelve months and amortization in up to 30 months, with rates of 1,39%.
Due to the established partnership, small companies will be able to access up to 125 thousand reais in credit. It is worth remembering that, with these new measures, the grace period will be one year, up to three years to pay and interest of 1.19%.
Better conditions for MEIs and companies
It's a lot of news isn't it? According to the president of Caixa, Pedro Guimarães, the partnership is intended to support the micro-enterprise sector that has suffered too much from the reduction in activities that the new coronavirus has caused.
The president of Sebrae, Carlos Melles, argues that one of the biggest obstacles in the access of small businesses to credit is the requirement of guarantees made by financial institutions.
