As many people in São Paulo are not respecting the quarantine, as a measure to combat covid-19, the government will extend it with more restrictions on the movement of people.
As the secretariat published, Bruno Covas has already made the decision that there is “no way to relax in isolation measures”. Disease notifications went from 812 a day to 3,400 in the last week.
The municipal secretary of Health, Edson Aparecido said that a decision has already been taken:
“We cannot relax the isolation measures from the 10th of May. In the capital it is absolutely impossible for us to do that, on the contrary, we are starting a discussion at the city hall so that we can strengthen some of these measures so that we can make the isolation in the city grow from this level of 48%.
Quarantine in São Paulo will have more restrictions
Contrary to what many think, as of May 11, the state government must make the operation of commerce more flexible (with a lot of restrictions) in some regions where there are few cases of Covid-19.
Among the new restrictions adopted in partnership with the Government, the City of São Paulo must block some roads in the city.
The secretary said that when you do a blocking process and you reduce a lot [traffic] making people discouraged to leave their homes, especially in regions where the pressure on the health system has continuously increased.
After all, what are the blocked roads?
Among the regions that should have the blocks are Brasilândia, in the extreme north of the capital. The Brasilândia district has the highest death toll in the city, with 81 deaths as of April 24.
