Yesterday afternoon (30), a shipment of kits with 500,000 tests for rapid detection of the new coronavirus arrived in Brazil directly from China. Through the simplification of procedures due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the cargo passed quickly and smoothly through Customs.
The Federal Revenue released all the material in a very quick period of time, it only took 68 minutes. Customs at Cumbica Airport, in Guarulhos (SP), which received the first batch of tests.
The airline Emirates was the carrier and the release with an accelerated clearance process (release of the entry of goods into the country after proof of their regularity), had the articulated participation between the Federal Revenue Service, the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), the Ministry of Health, the GruAirport concessionaire (which operates Cumbica Airport) and the airline.
This was the first of five batches of kits to be imported from China, which will arrive at Guarulhos airport over the next 30 days. The total number of tests accounts for 5 million tests. The Ministry of Health announced last Saturday (28), that it intends to increase the acquisition of rapid tests to 10 million.
Other actions in the country
According to the Federal Revenue, also in Belém there was another accelerated clearance. In the state, the importation of 20 respirators for immediate patient care was released.
To make the process faster, the Revenue unit in Pará monitored the import license process while they were analyzed by Anvisa. The physical verification took place simultaneously with the arrival of the equipment. Integration also includes state and municipal control bodies.
1,620,000 masks and gloves that were seized to help fight the coronavirus in the state of São Paulo were also released and destined by the Federal Revenue Service at the port of Santos in (SP). The materials went to the Revenue unit in São Paulo and to agents of the Federal Highway Police and the Ministry of Agriculture who work in the state.
The Federal Revenue received 1 million non-sterile gloves and 117,000 non-sterile masks. The Federal Highway Police of São Paulo received 500,000 gloves. And the Ministry of Agriculture won 3 thousand masks.
