The Ministry of Health currently records the frightening total of 51,073 cases of deaths from coronavirus in Brazil and 3,313 deaths until 2 pm this Thursday (23), according to information passed on by the State Health Departments.
In fact, we know that so far, of the total number of confirmed cases, 26,573 people are considered recovered, corresponding to 54% of the diagnosed cases and another 19,606 remain in follow-up.
Unfortunately, in the last 24 hours alone, 3,735 new cases and 407 new deaths were recorded. “We had an increase in deaths above what had been happening before. It is not yet possible to say if this represents an effort to close the diagnoses or if it represents an increasing trend.

Regarding the deaths, the new Minister of Health said that “we evaluate what is happening every day, until this afternoon and, based on the new data, we define the new actions”, he emphasized.
It is known that today 1,269 deaths await laboratory investigation. With the arrival of more diagnostic tests in the states and improvement in the flow of laboratories, this wait for the result has been reduced. To give you an idea, of the 407 deaths confirmed today by COVID-19, 112 occurred in the last three days and the others (295) before that period.
Brazil gained more beds, says Ministry of Health.
It was announced this Thursday (23), the provision of 1,134 ICU beds dedicated exclusively to caring for serious or critical coronavirus patients. This amount is added to the 322 beds enabled on two other occasions in April. With this, the country now has a reinforcement of 1,456 ICU beds in the fight against the pandemic.
He ended by saying:
“We made the qualifications today for the most different states and this will represent an investment by the Federal Government of R$ 163.6 million over the next 90 days”, highlighted Minister Nelson Teich, during a press conference at Palácio do Planalto, in Brasilia.
