In São Paulo, the Núcleo da Infância e Juventude da Defensoria Pública together with the Special Action Group on Education of the Public Prosecutor's Office, considered on this day (8) the public practice, to help children in public networks with credit such as school meals.

O help credit, it will only be for children in extreme poverty, for those who receive some government assistance such as Bolsa Família, and others. Many public school children go to school to have a meal, food they don't have at home. In this difficult time of isolation from the coronavirus, the government is trying to think about these children, the resources sent for food in schools are for these children.
Even so, according to a note from the Public Prosecutor's Office, the prosecutor and public defenders, they make it clear that school meals are universal. Therefore, it is equal for all, in order to ensure food for growth, learning and guarantee of school performance.
Although the Planalto Palace also issued Law 13,987 of 2020, this law guarantees food to all public school students who, because of the pandemic, classes are suspended. As well as the National School Meals Program (PNAE) they provide funds for the parents or guardians of enrolled students to receive foodstuffs.
Last year's School Census (2019) shows that in Brazil there are almost 39 million children and adolescents enrolled in the public network. Although the private network has just over 9 million students.
The Alagoan senator from the PSDB party, Rodrigo Cunha, who reported the law, was “highly commendable” for his concern with feeding thousands of children and young people. He said that we are going through such a difficult time with the pandemic, and the role of the Public Power is to help vulnerable children and adolescents. Based on the data, and on the law, it is clear that society can only get out of this crisis with social projects.
