Government of SP exempts communities from paying water bills for three months

According to official information from the Government of SP (and from the secretary of SP), the determination was published last Friday (3) in the Official Gazette; government has already suspended Sabesp's social water tariff for 506 thousand families.

On the last Friday of April, the government of the state of São Paulo exempted residents of communities from paying their water bills for the months of April, May and June. The determination was published this Friday in the Official Gazette.

According to what was published, the payment of bills/invoices for water and sewage due in April, May and June 2020 for users classified in the social residential and favela residential category is exempt.

As we know, last Thursday (19), the government had already announced the suspension of Sabesp's social water tariff for 506 thousand families that pay social tariff. The rate will not be charged from April 1st and is valid for 90 days for the entire state.

As we said in the last article, the Secretary of Health of the State of São Paulo recorded this Friday (3) 219 deaths related to the new coronavirus.

Very worrying, as the number is three times higher than last Friday (68 deaths). Confirmed cases also quadrupled, jumping from 1,223 to 4,048.

On the last 24th of March, the Dória Government decreed a quarantine that lasts until the 7th of April. The measure forces the closure of trade and maintains only essential services, such as in the areas of health and safety.
