This week, the federal government announced that it was necessary to open an extraordinary credit in the total amount of R$ 3.419 billion for actions to face the public health emergency resulting from the new coronavirus (covid-19).
What will be the impacts of this new measure to combat the coronavirus? Will they be enough?
The president has been criticized by all sides for not taking concrete actions that really have effects in the fight against the coronavirus, but critics believe that this new government attitude can really help in the fight against the invisible enemy.
How did this new measure by the Federal Government come about?
The opening of credit is set out in Provisional Measure 929, published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of this Wednesday, 25.
According to the text published this Wednesday, the ministries of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications, Foreign Affairs, Defense and Citizenship will benefit from the resources.
Which sectors will be covered?
The Ministry of Science and Technology, (which previously had been suffering from not having many resources) is R$ 100 million for actions in the face of covid-19. Which left the folder's technicians quite excited.
In addition, the measure also says that another R$ 62 million will be allocated to Foreign Affairs;, as R$ 220 million will be for Defense; and R$ 3.037 billion for the Citizenship portfolio, to reinforce the Social Inclusion program through Bolsa Família and Public Policy Articulation.
