Here are the WHO recommendations to prevent the new coronavirus:

Wash your hands often

Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub. Alcohol and soap kill viruses that may be present on your hands.

keep social distance

It's important to maintain at least one to two meters of distance between you and people who are coughing or sneezing. Transmission of the Covid-19 virus is passed through droplets that are in nasal discharge and saliva. The distance between people with flu symptoms prevents droplets from reaching you.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

Because hands touch all types of surfaces, they can pick up the virus. Once contaminated, the hands can transfer the virus to the eyes, nose and mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and make you sick.

Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing

When surrounded by people, cover your mouth with the crook of your elbow when sneezing or coughing. It is also possible to use tissues, which must be disposed of immediately after use – fold them with the used part inwards, in order to prevent the virus from spreading.

From the call, the health agents will indicate what you should do: if you should stay at home, if they will refer you to a professional, or if you can go to an Emergency Care Unit (UPA).
