Professionals start working in April. They will be in the health network to help the state in containing the expansion of the new coronavirus.
As of next Saturday, April 4, professionals hired by the Rio de Janeiro State Health Secretariat (SES) will begin working in the health network. Vacancies will be distributed over 12 units, all managed by the Health Foundation.
There will be biologists, physicians, nurses, nursing technicians and pharmacists and other hires to provide support in the state's care units.
Edmar Santos, Secretary of State for Health, the faster the professionals contract, the better to fill the need for care of a greater number of patients with covid-19.
“We are going through an exceptional moment. No health system in the world is prepared for the significant increase in demand for emergency care. For this reason, we are working to expand the staff of working professionals as soon as possible”, said the secretary.

The division of professionals approved in the Foundation's last contest will be done in categories: doctor; social worker; biologist; Work safety engineer; nuclear physicist; dentist; pharmaceutical; speech therapist; nutritionist; psychologist; pharmacy technician; laboratory technician; nurse; oral health technician and nursing technician.
They will be distributed in the following units: Arthur de Siqueira Cavalcanti Institute of Hematology (Hemorio); State Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology Luiz Capriglione; State Transplant Program; Carlos Chagas State Hospital; State Institute of Sanitary Dermatology; Santa Maria State Hospital; Noel Nutels Central Laboratory; São Sebastião State Institute of Infectious Diseases; Eduardo Rabello State Hospital. Psychiatric Center of Rio de Janeiro; State Institute of Cardiology Aloysio De Castro and State Institute of Thorax Diseases Ary Parreiras;
Current situation in Brazil
The death toll from coronavirus in Brazil has risen to 111, the Ministry of Health reported today. The country has until this Saturday afternoon 3,904 official cases of the disease. Since yesterday, 19 new deaths and 487 new cases of covid-19 have been recorded. Just today, three people died.
Yesterday, 503 more cases had been confirmed. With that, today's data represent the second largest increase in confirmed cases overnight since the Ministry of Health started accounting for covid-19 infections.
