Number of deaths in Brazil is alarming

The big concern now is that in Brazil, cases are doubling in less time than Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. It is known that among the Brazilian states, Maranhão is the one that registers the same speed of deaths as the United States. In other states such as Amazonas, Rondônia, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco and Alagoas, the registration of new cases is equivalent to that of Italy.

Fiocruz specialists clarified that these deaths are a consequence of some measures that were taken several weeks ago, of relaxation and some of behavioral relapse of people who failed to take some precautions.

They also found the virus to be present in all Brazilian states and rapid spread to smaller municipalities. The greater the number of cases of Covid-19 in small towns, the greater the risk of lack of care where the health structure is poor or non-existent, and the greater the migration of patients to larger cities, where there is already a lack of beds in health units.

Situation in Brazil is worrying!

The Fiocruz institute also explained that the new coronavirus is already present in almost 80% of municipalities between 50 and 100 thousand inhabitants. In smaller municipalities, community circulation is already visible and worrisome.

“Some specific measures need to be taken in these smaller cities: screening, rapid care, testing.”

Anyway, we must follow WHO guidelines, and do our part.
