Everyone was taken by surprise this morning, when Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF, suspended the appointment of Alexandre Ramagem to the general directorate of the Federal Police made the day before by Bolsonaro (without a party). The possession was scheduled for the afternoon of this Wednesday (29).
The Federal Supreme Court responded to a request from the PDT, which filed a writ of mandamus at the STF alleging “abuse of power by misuse of purpose” with the appointment of the delegate to the PF.
Ramagem is a friend of the Bolsonaro clan, who was director general of Abin (Brazilian Intelligence Agency), which motivated a judicial offensive to bar it, in view of the interests of the family and allies of the president in investigations by the Federal Police.
Against the decision of the STF, Bolsonaro will react.
Last Saturday (25), one of the main media outlets in the country, Folha de São Paulo, showed that an investigation led by the STF (Federal Supreme Court), with the participation of PF teams, has indications of Carlos' involvement in a scheme of spreading fake news.
The decision of the STF is causing a lot of revolt among Bolsonaro's supporters, as can be seen on social networks. In an official note Moraes declared:
“I grant the preliminary injunction to suspend the effectiveness of the [appointment] decree with regard to the appointment and inauguration of Alexandre Ramagem Rodrigues for the position of General Director of the Federal Police”, Opinion with the support of the Federal Supreme Court.
Still on his decision, Moraes said there was "non-compliance with the constitutional principles of impersonality, morality and public interest". He also noted that, “in a republican system, there is no absolute or unlimited power, because that would be the negation of the Rule of Law itself”.
But after all, what does Bolsonaro say after this decision?
