He always had the dream of directing, but, for financial reasons, he never took his driver's license🇧🇷 Know that there is a government project called CNH Social. Through this program, the needy population is able to get the much-dreamed driver's license.
With that in mind, today we are going to talk about this program, for you, who need and want to drive, but have a limited budget.
CNH Social Program
The program CNH Social, is a project created by Federal government in 2011, as a way for low-income citizens to get their driver's license, completely free of charge (without paying anything).
Through this benefit, the government also intends to increase employability, of the population, because the qualification, opens more doors for jobs that require this qualification in general.
However, the program does not exclude the fact that the beneficiary needs to take theoretical and practical driving classes. The program is funded by respective state government, depending on the state, this project may be in charge of the SEST/Senat – Social Service for Transport and National Service for Learning in Transport.
Who can get a Free Driver's License?
Low-income people can apply for the program, obviously, there are some criteria to follow:
- Be 18 years of age or older;
- According to state law, number of vacancies, enroll within the opening period, prove low income, and have a family income of at most 2 minimum wages;
- Knowing how to read and write;
- Being without a job for more than 12 months, or being an ex-convict;
- Be registered with CadÚnico, and benefit from social programs;
- Be studying or have studied in a public school;
- Have not committed any traffic violations.
It is worth mentioning that the rules may vary from state to state.
How to enroll in the Free Qualification Program
Annually, the government of several states opens registration to participate in the project🇧🇷 It is worth mentioning that it is necessary to have open vacancies in order to register. There are two options to apply, Detran or SEST/SENAT:
On the website of sest/senat, find the “courses” bar and click on the option “CNH Social” or “People's Driver's License”, from then on, just wait for public notices to open, for registration, and request participation.
If the option is DMV, enter the official website of the Detran of your state, and look for the option “CNH Social🇧🇷People's Driver's License”, when locating the option, fill in your data and send it for analysis.
Free Driver's License by state
Although the project belongs to the federal government, it is up to the state governments to decide to include and finance the program in their respective state.
Some states have already joined the program, they are: Rio Grande do Sul, Espirito Santo, Amazonas, Ceará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Maranhão, Sergipe, Bahia, Acre and Rio de Jaineiro. In the other states, either the projects were denied, or they are still in the analysis and voting process.
