Currently, there is a program federal government, with the objective of helping the Brazilian population, to get a driver's license for free.
With that in mind, today we bring this article to present the program to you, who want to take out your wallet, either to work or just as a means of transportation, but cannot afford the high costs charged by institutions.
Knowing the CNH Social Program
The program social license, was created in the middle of the last decade, at the beginning of the Dilma government, in 2011, with the aim of offer the Brazilian population, most in need, a form of acquire a driver's license, completely free of charge.
Several people do not believe in the existence of this government program, however, by doing a simple search on official government websites, it is possible to confirm that it really exists.
Although the program was authored by the federal government, it was decided in the Chamber of Deputies, which would be up to each Brazilian state, to choose or not to participate in the program. How to Apply for the Free Driver's License Program
To enroll in the program, just go through a simple procedure, next to the DMV, or SEST/SENAT (depending on your state of residence).
To sign up for DMV, just access the DMV website of your state, then locate the tab “CNH Social”, here you will need to fill out a form with your personal data, after completing it, click send. The Detran will evaluate your profile, and upon completion, you will receive an answer, whether or not you are able to participate in the program. It is worth mentioning that participation in the program does not exclude your obligation to pass theoretical, psychological and practical tests.
To sign up for SEST/SENAT, go to the website of SEST/SENAT, look for the field “CNH Social and Insertion of New Drivers”, (but they are currently not open for new registrations).
Conditions for participating in the program
As with any social program, there are criteria to participate in the project, check out the requirements:
- Being unemployed for more than 1 year;
- Not having a monthly income greater than 2 minimum wages;
- Be a participant in the Bolsa Família program and be registered with CadÚnico;
- Having studied in the public school system.
Among other requests, the program also accepts applications from people in the condition of ex-convicts, small rural producers, people with special needs.
Documents Required for Enrollment
To enroll in the program, it is necessary to have some documents in hand: Document with photo, (RG or work card); CPF; Proof of address; Birth or marriage certificate of all family members; Work card of all family members who have this document.
