Covid-19 has been the biggest concern of world authorities, as it has directly affected the functioning of society, as we know it, but how long will we live in these uncertainties?
In fact, we don't know, however, many banks are taking action to contribute to the fight against the new coronavirus that has already killed thousands of people around the world.
We are talking about this matter here, the record donation of Itau bank, now, other banks have started to move to try to speed up the process of combating covid-19.
The official news was published by Sheet🇧🇷 Banco do Brasil and Bradesco announced last Saturday (18) the donation of R$ 20 million to Fiocruz (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation) for the production of rapid diagnostic kits for Covid-19. The tests will be sent to the Ministry of Health.
Lack of testing for Covid-19 in Brazil
Unfortunately, we still have a huge lack of tests in Brazil to quantify the level of contamination of Covid-19. And this has been seen as a problem in fighting the pandemic.
And in addition, according to the recommendation of leading specialists in the subject around the world, including Atila Marinho, the reopening of the economy is only considered viable when the population can be tested and the sick isolated, which it seems that will not happen in Brazil.
About donations to fight the coronavirus
We know that large banks have made different donations to initiatives to combat the coronavirus.
As mentioned above, this week alone, Itaú announced R$ 1 billion, taking the amount donated in the last 40 days by companies, families and individuals to a record R$ 2.5 billion, according to the Covid-19 Donations Monitor.
From what is known, above all, of the total resources to combat the pandemic, 63% comes from the financial system.
However, now, the donation from Banco do Brasil and Bradesco will be made indirectly by EloPar, a financial services company controlled by the two banks responsible for the Elo banner.
Finally, to calm the market, Luiz Carlos, chairman of Bradesco's board of directors, told Folha:
We are adding our contribution to the efforts of the entire Brazilian society in search of quick answers in the fight against the coronavirus”
