Covid-19 deaths in Brazil are faster than Spain

With the intention of alerting the country to an imminent collapse, in relation to Covid-19, 7 specialists from different institutions measured the 'speed' of the disease in the country; in other words, the time it takes for the virus to double the number of deaths, but will the authorities pay attention to these studies?

If anti-scientific distrust persists, Brazil runs the risk of repeating the situation of Europe and the USA, but you won't let that happen, will you?

Advancement and deaths by Covid-19 in Brazil

Based on information from the Ministry of Health, the Covid-19 BR Observatory, which is made up of specialists from seven universities, measured the speed of the disease in Brazil and compares it with that of other countries.

The study showed that the time it takes for the coronavirus to double the number of deaths. Until this Wednesday (22), more than 2,900 people had died of Covid-19 in Brazil.

Coronavirus – information from the observatory

Research alerts us with concrete data. The doubling time for the number of deaths from Covid-19 in Brazil was 9 days and 14 hours. In Spain, in the same period that number was 12 days and 7 hours two weeks ago.
The researchers said that the lower this range is, the more lethal the pandemic is in the country.

But anyway, how are we?

Difficult to answer. According to official data provided by the ministries and secretariats of the cities, the scenario in Brazil is worse than that of Spain when compared to the corresponding periods of the advance of the coronavirus.
The comparison has to be made from different dates because the pandemic in Europe started to kill earlier.

Vítor Sudbrack, a member of the observatory and a physicist at the State University of São Paulo (Unesp), explains to G1 that the calculations in each country begin five days after the tenth death.

According to the study: Brazil was, this Tuesday, on the 28th day of the series.
and Spain was on the 40th day – there, the 28th day was April 8th. It's really scary, we should start following isolation measures as soon as possible.
