Cras Project Encourages Women's Autonomy in Maceió

Stimulating women's autonomy and female protagonism, it was with this objective that Cras, Selma Bandeira, in Benedito Bentes, carried out the project.

While the motto: “I'm the boss at home” reflects on the construction of female autonomy in the domestic environment.

The third and final meeting ended this Friday (14th) with a truffle workshop, with the aim of initiative, the intern Renata Ribeiro, student.

Renata Ribeiro, student of Social Work at the Federal University of Alagoas (Ufal), profile of women assisted by Cras, found that most were responsible for the family.

In order for the group of women to achieve their financial independence through creativity, we put our hands in the dough with the truffle workshop Maceió.

In a way that awakens in them the desire to create something in search of a better quality of life, the project was organized in three stages.

Project objectives

At first it dealt with “Sexual and Reproductive Rights”. The second addressed “Lifestyle and mental health”.

The theme “Cras, social assistance services and female participation” was addressed in the last module of the project for the women of the Living Service.

In other words, “CRAS is an open space for women to participate, a welcoming environment that provides female empowerment.

However, it was just a first step, because the project is just the beginning, but the technical team will feel free to continue.

First of all, the project was the result of the experience in the internship field, with follow-up in the activities of Cras, with home visits.

In summary, women's experiences with initiatives such as Cras Selma Bandeira are considered means, including, to combat violence against women.

The project aims at self-esteem and the development of this courage in women, so that they can take initiatives and manage their own lives.
